Your adventure begins early in the morning with pick-up from your hotel in Cusco at approximately 5:15 AM. From there, we embark on a scenic 2-hour drive through the Andean highlands to the picturesque village of Mollepata.
Upon arrival, you will enjoy a fresh and energizing breakfast before continuing the journey. At this point, there is a local entrance fee of 20 soles, paid directly to the municipality (not included in the tour price).
We then continue by vehicle for approximately 1 more hour to reach Soraypampa, the starting point of our trek. Here, you will meet our muleteers and horses, who will carry the camping equipment, food, and up to 7 kg of personal belongings per participant.
From Soraypampa, we begin a 2-hour uphill hike to the breathtaking Humantay Lake. This stunning glacial lagoon, with its vibrant turquoise waters set against towering peaks, is one of the most iconic highlights of the Salkantay route.
At the lake, you will have time to explore, take photos, and enjoy the peaceful atmosphere, while your guide shares insights into its cultural and natural significance.
After the visit, we descend for approximately 2 hours toward our exclusive private campsite at Quiswarniyoc (4,100 m.a.s.l.), where a delicious and well-deserved lunch will be served.
In the afternoon, you will have free time to relax or explore the surroundings. You may choose to take an optional short hike to the Salkantay viewpoint, offering spectacular panoramic views of the surrounding mountains.
Alternatively, you can unwind in our unique accommodations, including Mountain Sky Huts or Crystal Domes, designed for comfort and immersion in nature. These feature glass doors, comfortable bedding, and incredible views of the night sky.
Located at 4,100 meters above sea level, the Quiswarniyoc campsite offers a truly special experience, surrounded by dramatic landscapes, nearby waterfalls, and breathtaking viewpoints that make this first day unforgettable.
