This stage of the 2-Day Machu Picchu Tour by Car to Machu Picchu includes overland transportation and a walking segment to Aguas Calientes.
The day begins at approximately 6:30 AM with departure from Cusco. The route follows a scenic drive of approximately 5 to 6 hours to Hidroelectrica, passing through varied landscapes including highland and subtropical regions.
Upon arrival at Hidroelectrica, lunch is provided at a local restaurant. After lunch, participants begin a 3 to 3.5-hour walk to Aguas Calientes. This section covers approximately 11 km along a relatively flat path that follows the railway line.
The route passes through a humid, tropical environment with vegetation typical of the cloud forest. Upon arrival in Aguas Calientes, participants are transferred to their accommodation.
In the evening, dinner is served at a local restaurant. The remainder of the evening is allocated for rest and preparation for the visit to Machu Picchu on the following day.
